DaneoDeck (the "App") is operated by CodeDeAri (representative: Hyunwoo Shim, the "Operator") and helps you collect words from material you choose and review them. The App has no account system or servers of its own, shows no ads, and does not track you by linking information with other companies' apps or websites. To improve the App, it collects usage statistics that cannot identify individuals with Google Analytics (Firebase) (see "Usage statistics" below).

The App's interface is in Korean. Screen names are given in English with the Korean label in parentheses.

Information the App handles and where it is stored

Cards and review history: words, meanings, example sentences, the original sentence each word came from, its source (type, capture time, material name), decks, review history, and "known"/"excluded" word marks are stored on this device.
iCloud sync: if you are signed in to iCloud, the data above is stored in your own iCloud private database and kept in sync across devices signed in with the same Apple Account. The Operator cannot see this data.
Photos and full-page text: photos you take or choose are used only in memory while you pick words and are not saved. The page's full text is also discarded when you close the word-picking screen.
Received material (text or photos shared from other apps): kept only on this device, without syncing, until you open the App and pick words. A photo is deleted as soon as its text has been read. Text is deleted once you send the picked words to meaning generation. Unused items are deleted when you remove them from the list, or when you open the App after 7 days. Received material is not included in device backups.
Settings: your daily goal, haptics, celebration effects, and the record of your agreement to the transmission notice are stored only on this device and are not synced.

Information sent to create AI meanings

To create a draft meaning, the App sends only the words you picked and, for each word, the one sentence containing it to Apple Private Cloud Compute.
The original photo and the full page are not sent.
Before the first transmission, the App shows you what will be sent and asks for your agreement. You can review it again under Me › Information sent to AI (나 › AI에 보내는 정보).
Processing by Apple Private Cloud Compute is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Usage statistics (Google Analytics)

To improve the App, it collects usage statistics with Google Analytics (Firebase). They are not used for advertising.
What is collected: a random statistics ID created for each installation; device model, OS, app version and device language; approximate region (country/city level); when the App was first opened and how long it is used; and app usage events (screens opened, onboarding completed with the chosen start and daily goal, the entry used to pick words (photo, paste, PDF, share, sample, visual intelligence or Lock Screen camera) and the number of words picked, draft meanings created, error codes and outcomes of failed meaning generation, draft confirmations and whether they were edited, cards created by writing the meaning yourself, file imports (format and the number of cards and AI drafts added), where the free limit on studying cards was reached, how often the App was opened from outside entry points (widgets, shortcuts, Control Center, visual intelligence, Lock Screen camera) and the number of words saved with a shortcut (the words themselves are not sent), the number of cards, time, "Again" count and study mode of each review session, paywall views, free-trial starts and their product, and the product and amount of subscription payments).
Processed so that individuals cannot be identified: the App does not collect your name, email, phone number or any account; it does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or the identifier for vendor (IDFV); and it does not send study content such as words, meanings, sentences or photos. The statistics ID is not linked with any other information, and data sharing and Google signals are turned off so that Google does not use this data for advertising or other purposes. Your connection's IP address is used by Google only to estimate approximate region and is not stored. As a result, the Operator cannot identify a specific individual from these statistics.
Where and how it is processed: Google LLC (USA, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 / privacy inquiries: https://support.google.com/policies/contact/general_privacy_form ) processes the data on the Operator's behalf in Google data centers in the United States and elsewhere. It is sent over the internet from time to time while you use the App.
Retention: records tied to the statistics ID are deleted after 14 months; only aggregated statistics such as daily user counts remain.
To stop sending: the App has no separate setting to turn off statistics. Deleting the App stops all sending. Me › Data › Erase All Data (나 › 데이터 › 모든 데이터 삭제) creates a new statistics ID, so later records are not connected to earlier ones.

When you contact us

If you contact us by email, your email address and message (including any device model or iOS version you write) are used only to answer you and solve the problem.
Records of consumer complaints and dispute handling are kept for 3 years as required by the Korean Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, and then deleted.
Support email is stored, when received, in the Operator's Gmail account provided by Google LLC (Google data centers in the United States and elsewhere). If you do not contact us by email, this information is not created.

Purchases

Subscription payments are processed by the Apple App Store. The App never receives your payment details; it only checks your subscription status.

Notifications and permissions

The camera is used only when you take a photo; the App asks for permission the first time you open the camera screen.
Review reminders are scheduled on this device only if you allow them, and contain only the number of cards to review.

How to delete your information

You can delete cards from the deck screen. Deleted cards are permanently removed from the device and iCloud after 30 days. Source records (material type, capture time and name) no longer used by any card are removed in the same cleanup once they are more than 90 days old.
Me › Data › Erase All Data (나 › 데이터 › 모든 데이터 삭제) deletes this device's cards, decks, original sentences, review history, word marks, received material, app settings and transmission-notice agreement record, creates a new statistics ID, and—if you use iCloud—also deletes the App's data stored in iCloud.
Deleting the App does not delete data stored in iCloud. To remove the iCloud data as well, use "Erase All Data" before deleting the App, or delete it under Settings › Apple Account › iCloud on your device.

We do not share your information

The Operator does not receive your study material (cards, sentences, photos). Usage statistics are viewed only within the scope described under "Usage statistics", and no information is sold to third parties.

Your rights and how to exercise them

You may ask the Operator to access, correct or delete your personal information or to stop processing it, and you may withdraw your consent. You may also make these requests through a legal guardian or an authorized representative.
If you send a request to the email below, we will handle it without delay and tell you the result.
The only user information the Operator holds separately is support email. Study material is never received by the Operator, so you can edit or delete it directly in the App (see "How to delete your information"); usage statistics cannot identify individuals, so a specific user's records cannot be singled out.

How we keep information safe

Study material is not collected on the Operator's servers but stored only on your device and in your own iCloud, which reduces the risk of a large leak from a single place.
Communication between the App and Apple or Google is encrypted (HTTPS).
The statistics console and the support email account are used only by the Operator and are protected with two-step verification.

Children under 14

The App is intended for users aged 14 or older. The Operator does not separately collect personal information of children under 14.
